As I was putting together all your wonderful ideas about Melbourne, I discovered, in the midst of all that information, a question from Kelly that I have only just realised hasn’t seen the light of day.

My sister always raves about the Victoria Markets, I’m not sure when they’re on, but I’m hoping to get a chance to visit them while I’m down there. She also raves about Op Shopping in Melbourne – perhaps some of the Melbournians have a list of their fave Op Shops and their addresses? My sister lives in Darwin, she just LOVES visiting Melbourne whenever she can.

Can anyone help Kelly out?

One of the latest ladies to join in, Rachelle, was wondering if anyone was coming from Ballarat and was interested in car-pooling to the Saturday Crafting Session?

Next is Jo who is looking for a someone to share at the Citigate Hotel. If you are interested, please email her at

And lastly, I need your help with some understanding of travel times and Melbourne traffic on a Friday afternoon for our Fabric Shopping Trip. I would really, REALLY appreciate any help from anyone who can help me out here. The shopping ladies need you.

(Oh, and by the way, what the bulk of you don’t know is that the super exciting visit that I alluded to is a visit to Ink & Spindle! The shopping ladies are VERY excited!)

Whereis tells me that it will take 10 minutes from Ink & Spindle in Kensington to Nicole Mallalieu’s studio in Brunswick. I’ve allowed 20 minutes. We’re talking about doing this between 4:30pm and 5:00pm on a Friday afternoon. Do you think that this is feasible?

The other question is about the leg from Patchwork on Central Park in East Malvern to Ink & Spindle. Whereis tells me 21 minutes. This trip will be between 3:00pm and 4:00pm. Would you say that I should allow 30 minutes? More?

Thank you VERY much for your assistance!

I’ve emailed Kerry separately with a couple of suggestions re op shops … one of my favourite things in the whole world. I think it would be safe to add ten minutes on to each of the travel times as Friday can be pretty busy and we will be inner city travelling. But I’m no expert and you may get better advice from others.

Traffic is usually horrendous on Friday afternoons. I would allow 30 minutes from Ink and Spindle to Nicole’s studio, and at least an hour from Patchwork on Central Park to Ink and Spindle (as you’re heading from one side of the city to the other during school pick up time).

I agree with Cam. I think she’s pretty spot on with the time you should allow for both legs.

In terms of the opshops I’d also suggest have a look at I Op Therefore I am – for a list of op shops and some reviews, etc.

Good luck with the travel times :S

I was also wondering if there was anyone interested in going to Ballarat/Daylesford on Sunday? Was hoping to pop over for lunch and a look around. Lark maybe. And hopefully catch up with some other bloggers that couldn’t make it to sew it. If there is anyone interested or if anyone has a car/mini van/bus that we can hire etc. please let me know 🙂

Thanks again for all you hard work xox

Bianca I would have loved to go to Daylesford to Lark but my flight home is 1.00 so I would not have time. I had been trying to work out how to fit it in but to no avail!

I work and live near Ink and Spindle… Would you like me to come over and lead the bus to Nicole’s on the Friday? I know the back streets etc. Might be useful.
